10 eggs are in the incubator again! Here are some pictures of our flock.

The chicks pictured are from our hatch from last year.

Rooster is a splash maran, and the hens are a range of Speckled Sussex, Silver laced Wyandotte, barred rock, Americana, Olive Egger, Prairie Bluebell Egger, Sapphire Olive Egger, Starlight Green Egger.

Only the rooster has feathered feet and he passed that on to some of his chicks which was cool!

The last hen pictured who is blue with black feathers randomly splashed and also a red head was another we hatched that we thought looked particularly interesting.

Anyway! Excited to see what this batch looks like!

Very fun to see a splash with copper (edit- both the rooster, and the pullet/hen)

Is one of those younger chicks black feathered? Or maybe it's the lighting
Since your rooster is splash, all his chicks should be blue
(Unless paired with blue or splash hens, then they can be splash)

Here are some other pictures of their offspring! We’ve only had this one rooster save for the silkie. But the silkie roo is unwelcome in the main flock. They all have looked primarily blue to me! I am fascinated by chicken color genetics but have zero clue how it all works or what to expect!

Any chance for auto sex chicks with any of these combinations by the way? I wasn’t sure if a splash Maran x Barred rock cross would produce sex linked chicks, being that the males would have indication of barring while the female chicks would not?
And what about the roosters foot feather gene? I noticed many (possibly all) of the roosters had inherited the foot feathers but no hens so far.

Which egg is from the Prairie Bluebell Egger? Is she from a cross with a green egger or am not seeing the blue ?
I don’t know exactly which hen is which, we got a mix bag of colorful layers from Hoover three years ago! From what I understand their Prairie Bluebell is a cross with Araucanas and White Leghorns

Edit: oh! I did not read your question carefully enough. I thought you asked which hen was the prairie bluebell, not which egg. I don’t actually think I added one of our blue eggs now that I’m looking at them! I am sure last batch we did.
