My chicks are hatching. This is very fun to watch with the kids. My question is do we need to remove some of the egg shells to allow for more room for the hatching peeps? Looks awful crowded in there. I read that it is best to leave them in there for 12-24 hours and up to3 days. So what is the best?

I try and open as little as posible or you may endanger some of the chicks trying to hatch.. lowers the humidity. make sure the are fluffy before you do take them out.
if you have to open while others are hatching make sure it is a tag team effort someone to open someone to grab.
I do not recommend it though. They can go close to three days but I try and get them out a day after
