Hello! Last year, we hatched quite a few of chicks. Most hatched nicely, cleanly. But we had a few chicks that didn’t hatch so easily. I’d like to prevent this from happening this year, but I’m not to sure why? The heat and humidity are fine, as the other chicks are hatching fine. But there’s alway 3-4 eggs where the chicks get stuck. Their feathers stick, and they slowly run out of energy and die. So I decided to try to help these few chicks (Not the best idea but better then letting them die when they’re already half out of the egg). I use luke-warm water at a trickle and slowly peel of the shell. They survive, and are fine. Except the feathers stick to the shell and pulled, leaving permanent bald spots, which aren’t good for show. Has anyone else ever had this problem? Any advice on how to prevent this? Or is this just something that happens and isn’t avoidable?
