Hello I have posted here before and got great advice on when to help a chick hatch. I saved one rhode Island red chick by following her steps, sadly the chick was very wobbly on his feet and never learned to eat correctly and couldn't drink without sucking water into the holes on his beak. Sadly 5 days later he passed away. I had a bantam egg hatching for over 30 hours it had piped the shell and not zipped and I had to intervene once again this time the chick appeared to have one leg fatter than the other and it died within 4 hours of the hatch.
I have a 2nd Rhode Island Red egg hatching with only a pea size pip and It has made no progress for 19 hours! Should I help?????????
Does anyone know why my chicks are having such a hard time????
I am using a still air incubator and I had them in a turner untill 3 days before hatch.I am about to give up!Temp was set at 99.5 and 40% humidity.
Please reply asap
Thank you
