I'm trying to figure out where my batch went wrong and opened up the 4 eggs that internally pipped but never made it past that point. (No pictures were taken)
Two of them were like I picture "internally pipped" with just the break sticking into the air cell and the membrane otherwise intact - but kind of sloshy under membrane and I remember thinking at the time that they didn't seem like they were filling the egg as much as the ought to be.
The other two were completely filling the shell, including the air cell. Position looked like the one I helped out this morning - but these two never externally pipped.
I had put a tiny, tiny safety hole in the top of the air cell, but it was completely blocked.
Which usually happens first? Pipping or expanding the body up into the air cell?
