hatching quail eggs for the first time

ive never used a quail carton, but to be safe i would poke a hole in the bottom. you can never have to much ventilation inside your incubator.

someone else may have a better idea but, assuming they are like chicken egg cartons; i would cut the lid off and cut the carton in half lengthways. i would lean the first part at about 45 degrees against the wall of the incubator, then lean the next row against the first. when i got to the last one, i would put some paper to help make sure it stays at 45 degrees. when its time to turn i would move them to the opposite side of the incubator, leaning the opposite way.

Okay so I'm on day three incubating my couturnix quail eggs. I read you can candle them on day 3 so I did but i don't see anything. a few were completely clear and the rest i believe i was just seeing the yolks. Are none of my 24 eggs good?

Give them a few more days. Usually you will see blood vessels around a week or so. If they are coturnix quail the eggs are hard to candle sometimes.

Dog stupidly walked right into my incubator causing a few of my eggs to roll. Will this hurt them

they didn't roll that hard just rolled a little ways, i had to turn them anyway and thankfully none were cracked. i was so mad at the dog i banished her and she sulking in another part of the house.

Theres no way I could allow my bumblefooted German shepherd near my bator. She was named Avalanche and not Grace by her Foster family for a reason. We named her Angel before I knew how clumsy she was. :)

My dog is named snickerdoodles she's a tri colored cocker spaniel. It was partly my fault she was on the bed and I was looking for something and she wouldn't get up and I snapped at her and she jumped off the bed and bumped the incubator as she took off.

typically a little bump wont hurt your incubator, when the hens turn their eggs they bump them together. the one thing i do wonder about is, i used to raise cocker spaniels. you are aware they are bird dogs, and usually find chickens as fun toys?

My dog loves my birds which is funny because she's snappy at strangers but gets along fine with my peacocks and chickens.
