Okay, so I just ordered 50 quail eggs I've had my incubator going for about a week now and everything has been the way it should be around 65% humidity and 102 degrees (Still aired incubator) but once I put the eggs in the humidity goes wildly out of control I cant get it back up to 65% to save my life. The highest i've gotten it so far is 60% I've put water in the water tray at the bottom 2 sponges AND a wash cloth WITH a sheet over top to help contain humidity and heat yet the humidity wont go up. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it the humidity thermometer? Please help for my future quail are at stake!!!!

From personal experience I run humidity between 40 and 50% until lookdown then bump it up to 60% or so. I have 50 to 75% hatch rate most of the time.
Personally I wouldn't try to go any higher now unless you are hatching waterfowl maybe.

Second what foREVer said. I believe there are more problems with running humidity high than running it low. When they hatch humidity jumps high. You should install a fan. It makes such a huge difference. There are a lot of resources to show how it's done. I did my first hatch without it, which led to jumping temps and humidity. It all stabilizes with a fan.

Really 50%? All the research i've been doing says 65% and on lock down around 70. (I'm a first time quail hatcher first time egg hatcher at that)

My incubator (Borrowed from a friend) is really small I dont think its big enough to hold the egg turner and a fan

65% sounds high to me for first 14 days, maybe last 3 days...
don't listen to me though, I have never hatched quail eggs.- just yet.
who did you order the eggs from? did they give you any advice? would be wise to contact them and ask what their practice is.
hope someone else answers your question.
good luck!

ALL READING ARE HIGH...

TEMP STILL AIR 100.5 AT THE TOP OF THE EGG. HUNIDITY FOR INCUBATION 45-50% LOCKDOWN AT 65+%--- THE HIGHER THE HUMIDITY AT LOCKDOWN THE BETTER THE HATCH===== BUT! I ALWAYS HATCH IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION... ALWAYS
