It can be up to 48 hours from the original external pip before the chick fully hatches

Generally within 24 hours after pip the chick hatches. It can take a bit longer. I don't mess with hatching broody eggs, but in my incubator, where I can keep track of what happens when, I start an assist at 24 hours.
