my first egg pipped last night and one of my kids accidentally bumped the incubator and the egg rolled,do I have anything to worry about? The pip was toward the bottom of the incubator but now is toward the top of the incubator,if that makes since..this is my first time and I have anxiety right now so bad!any information would be helpful and also any information about hatching would be greatly appreciated!!!!
Thank You!

Oh yes!!!i have done lots of research!im having issues with stability on the temperature it’s wanting to go up or down by .5 degrees so I hope that is not going to affect anything!but my humidity is at a stable 63% can’t seem to get it any higher.

Good for you for preparing! :thumbsup

I like to get the humidity closer to 70% after external pips appear - have you tried using wet paper towels or clean (unused) sponges? I cut up O-Cel-O sponges and put them in the incubator at lockdown - they hold the moisture much better than just the water channels in my hatcher. If the humidity gets too high from the sponges, you can take one or more (as needed) back out.

Is your incubator in a room where there are drafts, maybe from doors opening or heating vents? That could be a factor, depending on what kind of incubator you use.

YVW. Humidity should come back up fairly quickly in a circulated air incubator - just try to do it quickly (and carefully). You could also mist a little warm water in - not directly on the eggs - from a spray bottle (before you close it back up), too.

Hi there, hope you are enjoying BYC! :frow

Once chicks start hatching they can sometimes play soccer with those that are still coming, having the same effect. :barnie

It *should* be okay.

Happy hatching! :jumpy:jumpy

First egg finally hatched!!!!should I take the wet paper towels out?i put them in there to raise the humidity or are they fine???it rolled in some of its eggshell lol
