Hatching Question.......

My eggs are due to hatch today. I heard a little cheeping today at around 2:00 p.m. so I thought that they were hatching. I left the broody hen alone, she is a really good setter. I did check a couple more times late afternoon and early evening. No more cheeping. Before bed I snuck a quick peep under the hen - no signs of a hatch. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is happening? Is it unusual for hatches to go longer than 21 days?

Is the hen isolated from the other birds? I have had other chickens eat the hatching chicks and leave no traces. I know it sounds awful, but keep counting to make sure all the eggs are still present......
