I have four peafowl eggs and they have all externally pipped. How long should it take them to zip? My first three pipped around four or five in the afternoon yesterday and it is eight in the morning here. They are all chirping and alive. Do I leave them alone?? PS first time hatching and am a nervous wreck!!!!!!!

Mine usually take about 24 hours to go from ext. pip to unzipping, but I have read that it can take 48, so not time to worry yet.

Whew! Thanks. I am so excited to get them to hatch I didn't want something to happen at this point! Thanks again

Thanks! I have read lots of posts on here that have been extremely helpful! I was so nervous hatching these guys out!! As we speak I have three hatching! I'll post pics as soon as they hatch!

My chicks are in a Brinsea 20 and they are flopping around trying to stand. When should I move them to the brooder. I want to wait until they are dry but they are knocking around the other eggs?

I have moved mine right away so they didn't wreak havoc on the remaining eggs, just make sure the brooder is a nice toasty 95 degrees and no drafts. They should dry out fine in it.
