HATCHING SHIPPED EGGS FOR FIRST TIME!!! COULD USE SOME ADVICE.

So, I bought some eggs off of eBay, and they sat for about 4 days, being rotated about 4 or 5 times a day... and i just stuck em in the incubator (or box as i call it). And i was wondering if there is any special treatment that they need to have for the first few days, or weeks, or what? So, i would just love some good advice, thanks ahead.

What kind of eggs? Chicken, duck, quail, etc?

Just remember to keep humidity at the right level, don't let it get too high or low. Keep checking the incubators temp. as a temperature spike could be fatal to the embryos. If your incubator does not have an auto turner, don't forget to turn the eggs! It is very important in the first weeks. You should also candle them in a few days. Good luck!

My hatch rate with shipped eggs has been around 50%. I usually only let them sit for 1 day before being put into the incubator, maybe the 4 day wait will improve your hatch rate. Other than that I just do the same thing as with eggs picked up from the flock.

I got a 50% hatch rate too. I also only let my eggs sit 24 hours before setting them. I had one batch of shipped eggs that I let rest for 6 days before before setting them, but I only got one out of eight to hatch. Hopefully you have better luck than I did!

I just incubated for the first time as well , also ordered from eBay. I let mine sit 2 days before putting them in , Had 8 of 10 hatch , the most important thing is the temperature , humidity , and turning , plus make sure to candle them , I candled mine at day 3 , 7 ,14 and 18 right before lockdown. What sort of incubator are you using? I used a still air and turned them myself 4 to 5 times a day , being extra careful not to jar them

well, mine is actually homemade out of a wine cooler, but its forced air, and i turn them myself also... What breed were yours @BunniexP ?
