Hi everyone! I have shipped Serama eggs in the incubator and today is day 21. Well later today will be a full 21 days. So far there aren’t any pips! That I can see! 😩 On day 16 i candled them before lockdown and most looked good but I only saw one move. I’m VERY tempted to open it slightly to feel for pips but I can’t decide. I’m also tempted to candle some again so I can remove any that have died! I have a Brinsea incubator and even after removing the top for a few minutes, it only takes a couple minutes to get back up to the correct temperature and humidity. I don’t want to miss a pip and not increase humidity. I sure could use some advice. I’ve hatched many different kinds of eggs over the years but these tiny eggs are stressing me out. What would you do?

You can/should candle for internal pips so you know if one has been struggling for too long and needs assistance. Internal pips look like a moving/breathing shadow/layer on the the air cell

Ok I think I’ll candle them quickly just to see what they’re doing. But it won’t tell me how long one might have been into the air cell.

Yes, but if they still haven't externally pipped by tomorrow around noon, you'll know something needs done.

As long as you go quickly and maybe add a wet sponge to bring the humidity back up, you'll be fine candling quickly. Just be gentle, and don't jar the eggs.
