Hatching "Show Quality" eggs?

I agree - it's just smoke. It might also be a ploy to deflect any criticisms away from the seller. As in, if they don't meet your expectations, it is because YOU were not giving them enough "special care".

I think I am going to tell DH that I am "show quality," so I will get special handling. I'd like to spend the weekend on the couch with a book.

I did email him and he sent me a very nice, detailed response last night. I'm very happy with the whole transaction.

I just was not sure what to do when they first came yesterday so I wanted to ask here - I really appreciate all the feedback. I wasn't sure if there was something I needed to do *immediately* to care for them when they first came.

Since we don't care if they are "show quality", we'll just be pleased if a couple of them live.

Even if the parents have both done well in shows, that doesn't mean the chicks are all show quality. To say eggs are show quality makes me scratch my head..
My best advice is to care for your chicks, love them, have fun.. learn about the breed, show if you want and maybe talk to diffrent sellers next time.

BayCityBabe - I like that idea about being "show quality". I think I'm going to declare myself "show quality" too! LOL!

That's nice that the seller emailed you back and that you are satisfied and can relax a little bit about the incubation. I hope your hatch goes well and that you have some nice little OEGB for your kids.
