In the next few weeks, we want to start incubating some eggs, we have five 9 month old pullets. The RIRs and the Buff Brahma seems to be laying good sized eggs but the Ameracaunas are laying eggs smaller than the rest.

I'm just wondering if physical size of the egg will effect the chick?

Thanks.

Guess we'll find out in 5 days. I have some tiny Ameraucana eggs in there that appear to be developing nicely.

I had a pretty good hatch from pullets a few months younger than yours so I think your chances are good. Good luck!!!

Yay, I really hope so! They just look so tiny next to the other eggs! I keep wondering how a chick is going to grow in that itty bitty space.

So excited, can't wait for the incubator to get here. How long should I start collecting eggs, how long are they good for at room temperature, waiting to be incubated??
