First time hatching question: Is it normal to see eggs rocking at day 22? I have looked around the forums but not found when to expect duck eggs to start rocking. I haven't heard any sounds and don't see peck marks. I've seen 4 eggs wobble this morning; one of them has been pretty active in his rocking.
Our temperature (still air incubator) has flickered between 99-100* the whole time (no partial degrees on our probe, but we're taking this as 99.5*), with 85-86* on the wet-bulb as per Metzer Farms recommendation. Candling has shown all twelve eggs appearing to develop along the timeline as the pictures on the Metzer website illustrates. None of what I've read leads me to think the conditions would cause them to hatch early.
BUT I never expected to see rocking out of the little eggs this morning. Do we just be excited, watch, and continue with our same routine of temp/humidity/turning for another three days until locking down at day #25? Or do we lock down early, lowering the temp, increasing the humidity, and stopping turning soon?
We appreciate your experience,
