Today is day 20 of hatching eggs under broody hen, one hatched 🐣 this morning and it’s doing fine, second egg is in process of hatching, it was chirping and some of the shell pieces broke off, there is a small crack a hole on top but most of the egg still have the white inner membrane on it, is it still ok since the process can take up to 24 hours or os this a dead baby chick inside ? It was chirping for 20 min then it was pretty quiet. More of the shell fell off but all is left is this white ? Is this still hatching ? Broody hen is still sitting on it

How long since the egg has pipped? I’d leave it for a few hours.
Then you can begin to assist hatching if needed. Is it chirping at all or is it silent?
If it’s been silent for over 24 hours you can get some tweezers and slowly and gently (I cannot stress this enough) peel off a tiny bit of the membrane. You can then leave it under the broody for a couple hours to see if it is alive/if it is making progress.
If further help is needed, peel back more of the membrane.

Best of luck!

It’s been 7 hours since it chirp … now it’s silent, more of the shell is gone only inner membrane left and there is a hole on top but all I see is body of a chick

If the chick is not moving you can begin to assist the hatch. Very very carefully.

Best to watch a few videos and maybe read this article before doing so:

Lots of people get a damp cloth before peeling over the membrane. Dab the membrane very very gently with a wet cloth and then try peeling back with tweezers or your fingernails. Very gently.
Good luck.

But possible can she still hatch by herself tomorrow? Since it’s day 21 tomorrow

Yes very possible. If you don’t see any movement, or don’t hear chirping after day 21, then it is best to assist.

You have it told me that it is only day 20.
You can leave it for now. Give it time.
Day 22-23 you can help if need be.

If you assist it is imperative you moisten the membrane with warm water. It will turn translucent, if you see veins filled with red-blooded do not assist yet its not ready. When it is ready you won't see any red blood filled veins. If you prick a blood filled vein and it starts bleeding the Chick will most likely die
