This is the first time I have tried this method. First chick hatched about fifteen minutes ago. It pipped a few hours ago causing much excitement in the household. I stupidly miscounted the days till hatch. I had two incubators running. One day apart. Since I had only one hygrometer I saved it for the bator that has my blue orp eggs in it. On the day that I thought was day 18 I combined both incubators into one. then when I realized my mistake on timing I kind of lost it with myself
Now on recounting it is either day 19 or day 20 for the first batch of eggs. I put them in at about 9 a.m. on both mornings. I read somewhere that if they go into the bator in the early a.m. you count that day as day 1? Not sure but ignorance just might be bliss here. I have been talking to the eggs....
and this afternoon I heard a cheeping.
About 1/2 hour ago I heard loud cheeping and ran to the bator....low and behold.....
here is the first pic of it hatching...which so far I am quite pleased with the carton method.
pics shown below due to error ...my fault here.
