I have had hens strut when trying to show dominance. One of my narri hens last year would go into a full strut after being mated and strut and spit and the tom that mated her. And she
could hold it over 5 minutes.
I think they strut if stressed, mad, or scared. Seen them fluff at yard dog, squirrels, and an over amourous rooster.
