Hatching with mama

Ok now since I did that whole moving her thing and having to just put her right back in her original area , I don’t believe she’s moving at ALL , she used to get up once a day for like thirty minutes, drinking, eating, doing her giant gross business and flapping about , but recently I seriously don’t believe she’s coming out at all
I have water and food reachable but will she just sit there and poop on her eggs ???

Guys today is day 20 and I candled two eggs and I don’t hear peeping and I don’t see anything good I just see darkness on most of the egg
The other one I only see darkness on like half of the egg
So does that mean they are dead now?

I didn’t see any sign with mine on day 20 but there were two new babies on day 21. One egg that hatched on day 19 died. I think momma pulled it under her to keep safe and warm and squished it. It was very flat and right under her breast bone.

At this point I would wait and see. If there's nothing by day 23 generally you won't get anything. With the eggs not being sat on for a bit it may take them longer.

Ok today’s day 21 and nothing yet but I candled one yesterday and I seen movement in one so I just put it back and didn’t check any others , however one had a crack in it then later I went back ( this was yesterday) and there was a dead chick in there fully formed I think the mama just broke it open or something

So today was day 21 for most but tomorrow is day 21 for a couple of others so I’ll keep you posted

Thank you very much I’m down to only like five eggs but I want to put some live chicks under her if I don’t get many
I think you need to do that after some hatch and in the dark at night and then she may do great or she may reject them
Right?

It all depends on the hen. Some will attack any chicks, even their own. Usually they are inexperienced hens. Others will take everything.

She’s never done this before
