I want to incubate my eggs from my chickens since they are fertilized but i dont have an incubator is there anyway to make one? I can leave them with the hen but i think the other ones might peck at them and i would rather incubate them. so if i could find a way to make an incubator or if someone has one that i could use or buy

I had made an incubator with a cardboard box a few months ago and it worked very well. I used a box a little larger than the regular size styrofoam cooler, a light bulb I think it was 100 watts and a bowl of water for humidity. I kept an eye on the temperature and humidity and laid a towel partially over the top to hold the temperature at 99.5. The light bulb I installed about 3/4 up from the bottom on the side, you can buy a socket that plugs into an extension cord at Wal-Mart or any hardware store for about $2. I had a 80% hatch with this method. I did hand turn the eggs at least 3x a day! Good luck! :)

ok thanks! I think im just gonna let me hen sit on the eggs actually since im not sure if they are fertilized since our rooster is still young
