Good afternoon everyone, I have been trying to hatch some turkeys, the hen has been brooding and one has been successful but there is one egg that seems to have started to hatch but the egg is caved in, is there anything I can do? Is the chick dead?

What do you mean caved in? The whole egg is cracking and coming down? Check for cheeping, movement, wetness, etc. to see if your chick is alive.

Best fo luck with your baby ♥️🥺

Yah, the egg is there are spider cracks all through it with 1 hole and all the cracked spots are caved in and I don't want to mess with it due to humidity and temp

So I just looked and I saw movement so it is alive, should I do anything?
It depends.. how far along is the egg? If it’s fully developed, then I would say just wait and see. Check the chick for bleeding for sure, and see if it’s trying to get out. Honestly the ONLY help you can do for hatching in bad situations is sometimes move a stubborn piece of shell. Try not to break membrane of you help. By what you’re describing, it doesn’t seem lethal yet. No blood is good.

I’m sorry I don’t know much, I haven’t hatched a lot of birds before, but I have done some. I wouldn’t want to give bad advice on something I’m not sure.. I hope everything goes well 💛

Yay!!! I called my resident chicken expert and she said to get it out so I very slowly peeled him out and it seems to be successful, the chick is alive and very noise😁
