Even better this afternoon--he is actually *walking*--shaky, with knees down on the floor, slow & unsteady--but *walking* around the brooder this afternoon.

Thanks for all the support. I'll post pics of his little spraddly, shaky-legged walk later. I am so happy. I really wanted this little sweetie to make it.

Chance continues to show improvement. He had an outing with the others outside today, and did very well, though he got very tired. He now sleeps with his legs up under him instead of stretched out behind like in the picture. I am hopeful that in a week he will be acting basically normal. I'm headed out to the brooding area to give him some treats & extra protein.

Just another update--Chance is doing great. Still wobbly, but he shows improvement every day. He is smaller than the other ducklings, though he was hatched the same size. I think he's having to work so hard to get strong, he doesn't have the protein and energy to grow as fast.

Anyway, just watching them run around the yard on their daily exercise outing, you have to pay attention for a minute or two to pick Chance out of the group, because it's just not obvious unless you're looking for it. I'm so pleased.

I'll post pics soon, really! I just have to find a moment when I can get my camera out amidst all the chaos here.
