I have 26 new peeps, and I'm certain that 5 so far are roo's! I just know there's more! what should or can I do with all my boys? I don't want to eat them, or let anything terrible happen to them. My neighbors are gonna freak! What do I do?

Do not get attached to them unless you plan on keeping them. It only makes it harder if you do. You could either butcher them or find homes for them.

Sell them or post an ad giving them away if nobody wants to buy them. Of course, the people who take them may decide to eat them, but it's not the same as eating your own pet.

I am sorry but if your neighbors are going to freak then you should not be a problem owner and try to keep them. It not only endangers the keeping of all your pets but it also makes it that much more difficult for those of us trying to change peoples opinions and the laws. I got rid of mine and was able to make room to get a couple of chicks from a breed that I really wanted.

Put an ad on Craiglist( backing whats already been said )

I put an ad up tonight and within 20 minutes had an interested customer, and two more within the hour. Try it and see. I have the same problem with trying to rid myself of roos as you can tell from my sig, lol

I think it depends on the breed and the area you live in. If you near an area that is rural and has a shortage of say russian orloff roos, it might be easy If they are going to be big guys they may go fast also. Do not ask about them going to a pet home. It is better to not ask as long as the home seems to be humane (meaning clean) Most people who get chickens (roos) for meat are very humane from what I read on here and they will respect the life of the animal and its sacrifice. Just don't ask! if it bothers you.

It was much harder for me to kill my poor chick with the deformed beak than for me to give away my rooster.
