First time having chickens, have had them a couple months, feeding run of the mill co op layer feed but i've always been holistic and want better for them..

all i know of is scratch and peck non soy organic feed (if i can find where to buy it, it's based out of WA and i live in Snohomish WA) and i guess Nutrena makes an organic feed? Quick internet search of it doesn't sound very good?

Any thoughts? I think it's ok to spend more since i only have 4 chickens

If I only had four birds, I would do it. I was just over to the farm store and was looking at the organic feed. I just stood there and looked in wonder, the bags were more that twice what I am paying. So for me, at least in the short term it will just be local grain milled near me.

But for you, without a doubt I would do it, finances permitting of course. The adds are true you know, you are what she eats. I am somewhat unhappy with the compromise situation I am in.

Only you can choose for your flock,

RJ
