My Buff Orpingtons have always had their downs, but lately, my Precious' comb has withered and become pale. Now, she is dropping feathers and has lost weight. She is still bright eyed and has healthy droppings, but can I suspect Anemia? And what should I do about it.
The only clue to her decline in health I can think of is that about a month ago she developed a very pale, lump on her comb- like a large insect bite, or boil. It went away, but her comb is smaller, withered, and very pale. Her wattles are bright, but her comb is very pale, she has lost weight, the rooster drives her away....
My hens have plenty of dust for bathing, and I haven't noticed a mite problem on any of the other birds. My flock is small and usually gets some out-time during daily. Any advice on what she may have and what I can do to give her a boost back to health? She has completely stopped laying. Egg production dropped drastically in all the birds.
