The neighbor next door got a rooster, he crows alot. The neighbor said he is getting him a hen. He got him a hen a few weeks ago. I was kinda wondering if it was really a hen, well the both of them were crowing this morning!!!!!! I wonder when the neighbor is going to figure this out. He is kinda clueless about chickens.

That is funny. Poor guy. I kept thinking all my 15 chicks were roosters for the longest time and it ended up I didn't have a one. New people - I tell you!

It was because of this neighbor's "hen" that I got on line and tried to find how to sex chickens. I ended up at this site, and kept going back to it, and ended up "needing" some cute chickens.
My DH was building me an ark for two cute little chicks, however, I ordered 4, now the ark will have a permanent spot with a run.
I can't believe how tame these chicks are. They love my rings, they actually like being scratched under the neck. I'm joining the "crazies". Karen

They all had combs growing! Actually quite a few had very large combs and I thought that meant roo - when actually every chicken has a different size comb at least in my coop. I ordered 15 pullets and received 25. (Guessed the extra 10 were all roos) Ended up giving away 10 of them when they were a few days old and guessed on who was a roo and who wasn't. I ended up with all pullets.
