Not sure if this is the place to ask this question.I have an Orpington Pullet that is 17 wks old.Her comb or lack there of is pinkish. She has no waddles to speak of.Is this normal or is she just slow to develop. She is the largest bird in my flock.I have a RIR and a Barred Rock that are 14 wks and have combs and waddles that are bright red.I also have another Orpington that is maybe 14 wks also and is almost the size of the other one and has bright red comb and waddles. Is she just slow to develop.I have had her since she is a week old.

That is OK. Many heritage breeds start to lay after 20-22 weeks of age or more. That is the time when they develop the comb and watles. I will be more concerned for 14 week Orpington having big comb- that can be rooster.

I hope it is not a rooster. It really doesn't look rooish.I had 3 other orpingtons that I returned because the were roos.It doesn't have the big legs, angular face and it has t crowed. My other roos crowed really early. We are guessing at the age it is about 14 could be a little older.I will try to get a pic of it and I will post.Sorry for being new to this.Thank you for the reply

The older one shown is definitely a pullet. Where I'd wonder if a cockerel is your 14 week olds with red combs and wattles.

Ok so here is the Pullet in question. The breeder was guessing at the age when we got it.It could be more like 16 wks.IDK.Here are the 2 together.Crappy pic sorry.
