Have a question about eggs, not really sure if the egg has a chick

My hen is sitting on one egg and she won't take any others, when I put them in she rolls them back out, so she's been on one egg for a week now. This is the first time I doing this, I never really wanted to have more chicks but I thought I would see what will happen. I candled the egg a few minutes ago to check it, but I see no veins, just a dark blob. Is their a chick in there or not, I really don't know.

If the egg is dark colored, it is not always possible to see veining. The 'dark blob' is probably indicative that the egg is fertile. Adding eggs to a clutch during the incubation is never a good idea. All eggs should be given to the broody hen at the sane time. Let her try to hatch this egg, and next time provide her with more fertile eggs. Good luck.

Thanks for the answer. I figured I would just see what would hepen. The egg is a light tan color, she's a Salmon Faverolle. I will just have to let her sit for a few more weeks and see what happens.
