I dont Know how it happened, But She has a puncher wound under
her left leg. And the skin is ripped.
I took her to the vet. but where i live they dont treat
chickens. they gave liquid Baytril. It seems that the infection is
clearing up. but she wont stand on her leg, its like she in alot of pain, and on her good leg the toes are curling like the nails are too long. I dont know what to do, I'm very attached to her. and i'm very new to this. can anyone give me some advice.
Dont Know what kind of chicken or if male or female, she weighs one and half pounds. she is eating and drinking, I give chicken scratch, worms. her poo, is solid sometime and sometimes runny. I clean the wound twice a day and give herLiquid Baytril once a day as the vet instructed. She has been down since 11/12/08 We keep her in a large dog carrier with pine saw dust, and small towels
we dont know what kind of chicken she is. her mother and siblings are ferral. someone in town let them loose about a year ago. her and her siblins were hatched in the brush. we happened to catch her because she hobbling on one leg and she cound'nt keep up with her mother. so we caught her and nursed her back. I've had her for about a month. and she was doing fine. and then on the 12TH of november she got hurt. we made coop for her and i dont know if a cat reached in and got her.
