I just let my chicks out to play. The youngest of them is about 5 weeks. Well, I've noticed that a bunch of them lay down like they're dead while several others stalk around them as if checking them out. What the? What on earth are they doing?

They wouldn't be trying to do a dust bath would they? Do they spread their wings and flatten?

Their wings are close to their bodies, but not quite tucked in. They're flattened, though. I've noticed the ones that lay down try to do it in the sun. Are they sunbathing?

hehe yeah, they are sunbathing. The other chickens are walking around them and making lewd comments....must be the roos.

Wow. if all those are roos, I'm goign to have a problem on my hands. Three or so are walking around them. who knew chickens sunbathed? learn somethign new every day, I guess.

LOL. Well, if we like to sunbathe, chickens must like to sunbathe. I mean, we're so similar... mating dances... dust bathing... laying eggs. Who knew?

I knew chickens take dust baths, but not sun baths! This is news to me also.
