Through the years in my excitement and haste, there have been innumerable times where I have scrambled to get accommodations ready for mine. Chicken Math has been my nemesis on many occasions.

Thanks for the links. I’ve been pondering how all the baby chicks on the farms survived outside when everyone talks about how hot you need to keep them. I assured my wife that the chicks would be okay if they were out in our garage/shop. The article has me wondering if I should build a makeshift table to have them on. A few challenges are that I want to crack my garage door so they can venture outside. If I build a table comfortable for my height they will have a heck of a ramp to climb. I guess I could make it a good height for kneeling.

I should add that I’m planning on getting 25 chicks. So I will have a little bigger project then most of the ones I’m reading about.

From what I understand, feed stores are still providing chicks. You should be able to order from hatcheries too, but they're probably a bit backlogged.

If things keep going the way they are, layers might be a good idea. I've noticed that people are driving quite a way to buy my eggs now. Large orders too.

Either way, I'm sure that you're going to love this amazing venture of chicken keeping.
