have we been scammed?

Same thing happened to my girlfriend - she did the same, called the lawyer and her told her it was decided in the guy's favor, you need to pay $4,000 to me, yada, yada,
I would have reported the attorney to the attorney review board in her state of MN - would have had that guy disbarred in a heartbeat.
Get everything these guys tell you in writing so you can sue the jks.
Contact your county's attorney review board and see if you can file a complaint - they will set up a hearing (of course, you can't be there, it's private) but you sure can make him sweat bullets

You have to recieve papers from the court if they are ssuing you. And if the court date was changed the court would have to inform you. Scam! Scam! Scam! You may have a case of fraud. Call a lawyer and get some advise.

Obviously he is as good at scamming as he is at contractor work. Not too good.
Don't fall for it if it was official you would have a default warrant in your hands already. Usually the courts do not like to be blown off.
If you had missed a court date you would know.

Attorney Generals Office... They will advise you.. That was mighty naughty....This is what the AG's office is for.. You wouldn't happen to be elderly or disabled too??? that would be a extra spanking.

I would also call the BBB as well... This kind of naughtiness should not be tolerated.. I would see if all of his licenses with the state and bonding are in order as well.
