I was just browsing through Holderreadfarm's website and came across the Black Silky Duck and I'm in love!!!!!!
I've been to the feed store a few times a week waiting on some k.Campbells to come in and decided to look around the 'net since there are a few different breeds I want and their site has everything I've been looking for. Here's the page if you want to see the Black Silky

OK, that is a BEAUTIFUL duck! Thanks for the link. Have never seen that one before. Good luck on your khakis. I have 5 now and trading tomorrow for more hens. Have been tough to find!

I just read your latest posts on your blog and had to chuckle. I usually have that problem with my chicken hatches...too many Roos LOL Hope you share photos of your new Gals!

Please try to see some live ducks before you get your heart set on them. the feather condition that makes them silky ducks is rather odd, I don't think they can fly because of it and I don't think they are even waterproof. I was all hot to have them until I saw them in person, then not so much.....

Hey there!

I have four young Silkys that I aquired from Holderread Farm earlier this spring. I have three blacks and one white. They're very nice little ducks; loud, like a Call, and flighty, but very cute and friendly. They are fairly waterproof; not as much as my black Runners, but they still can go in water.

Thanks for the information. Love honest information. I have a call duck and it is not a problem where I live. No close neighbors. I kinda like some bird noises!

I almost ordered some when I ordered my anconas and GWH from them...but I could not figure out how to convince DH that 15 ducklings were actually only the 10 i was supposed to order and 5 were a different smaller breed.
