Have Ya'll seen the Black Silky Duck?

Oh my gosh! they are cute. And so small so less mess(?) though my Magpies and Runners are big enough I worry less about them when they are free ranging. We have plenty of hawks, eagles and ravens that are ALWAYS on the lookout here (though I've seen my collie try to run them down when they do swoop lower to the ground for a closer look). The ducks and chickens get irritated with his constant herding, but they do seem to hang with him and sense that they are safer.

I have a grey silkie and a snowy silkie and they just hang around with my other ducks and go in the water and swim. They make the same mess as a regular duck. I love them and want to get more they are so cute!

I have 2 mini -silkies I just got from Holderreads, just starting to feather out (2 weeks old). The website says the silkie feather take on the coloration of what they are bred too... or something like that. iread they can swim, but not fly I think.It's the outer feathers that are silkie, haven't re-read it , but I am watching them with anticipation....
