I boiled some eggs and when I peeled them one of them were brown where it should have been white. Is this good to eat or is it a bad egg? It was the exact same color as the shell. I smelled fine and the yolk looked fine but the "white" was brown

Yes, very odd. It looked like an egg in every other way except the brown coloring lol Yellow yolk and smelled fine too. We have been getting eggs from someone else until our lay and have never seen that before.

Hubby said he dissected it more and he seen like a partial layer of something dark brown right around 1/2 of the yolk. I know her chicken eggs are fertile. Could it be that a chick started to form before she collected the eggs? i put them right in the fridge when I get them home. It's just weird.

I'd say this one had blood inside, even though fresh. There are times when I've cracked a fresh one and it was very bloody inside. This is just boiled blood, is all...turns brown.

I would have mashed it up and fed it back to the chickens. They love eggs. That's what we do with the eggs we crack that have blood spots in them.
