....if call ducks really work? Well, here's my story....

So there I was, minding my own business and tending the animals when I hear the rooster growl, chickens started clucking LOUD which I knew meant "PREDATOR!!!" About that time a rather large shadow crossed me and I looked up. I was in total awe as I watched this lone bird circling my back yard. All the birds were ducking for cover then the bird was gone. 5 minutes later I hear the same commotion and there are 2 now circling! They finally find a place to perch where they can overlook our back yard - the electric pole by the house! I slowly walk to the house, grab the camera, step out on the back porch, and took these pics. I have no idea what breed they are but I was impressed with their beauty and with my one little call duck's ability to bring 'em in.....

They are seriously gorgeous IRL. They came back and I managed to sneak up on them with my camera. They were taking a bath in the pool I have out for the runners then they munched on some scratch.

(excuse the ugly pool - it's about 40,000 years old)

ETA: it has been determined they are black-bellied whistlers

I would SO totally dig it if they hung around, had babies, and then did their little ducky thing and migrated. Heck, they can stay for FREE if they wanted, just cause it's uber-cool to have them around.....
