I am doing an experiment with my daughter's class. We are making a homemade incubator, and I wanted to find grocery store eggs to put in there. Our Trader Joe's does NOT carry fertile eggs and some of the area co-ops dont either. People sound like I'm crazy when I ask for fertile eggs!!

I haven't tried PCC or Whole Foods yet.

So has anyone found anything in the stores in Western WA?

It's a part of the project - using store bought eggs. I want to use some fertile and some infertile eggs to show the kids. It's very inspiring to read all the reports on here about the grocery store hatches!!! Plus, everyone is very doubtful that it will work since the eggs have been refrigerated.

Thanks for the good luck! We're going to need it.

The only fertile ones I found outside of designated "hatching eggs" was from a local woman who was selling eating eggs but happened to have a rooster. I did find that a few of the free range eggs I got at Central Market were fertile, but the one I tried to throw in with a hatch didn't develop.
