I have a SLW that has botulism and I fear that I realized it to late. She started showing symptoms about 5 days ago and I just treated her with a flush last night. I've got her isolated in the house and she's hanging in there so far, but I don't have much hope at the moment. She's still breathing, but that's about all she can do.

Have you had a chicken survive a severe case of botulism and if so, how long was the recovery? Did he/she have any lasting side effects? What is the best supportive treatment to give? Any advice would be appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. Could you tell me what the symptoms are cuz I think my rooster may have it also. He is the only one acting like that in my pen. He just lays and has a hard time standing on his legs.

Mine started out limping, then the next day she couldn't stand up but was still eating and drinking. Two days later she couldn't hold her head up anymore and just laid there looking dead for the most part. Right now she is able to hold her head up if I prop her into a sitting position, but other than that about all she can do is breath and swallow.
