I have a newly laying hen that is pecking the rest of her flock terribly. My Roo has a bald spot on his back which I have sprayed with Blu Kote. Is she doing this because she needs the protein now? I have mixed layer food in with the rest of their starter food and have been giving them BOSS everyday as a treat. Have you tried bag balm or Hot pick for pecking? How does it work. I also have a pecker in my adult flock too and don't know why... Would love to solve this problem! Both flocks have a large run and also some get to go out in a tractor to pasture every day so that gives them even more room. The adult flock is on layer food with BOSS as treats and garden scraps also. The younger flock is on starter mixed with layer food and gets BOSS and garden scraps daily also! thanks!!!
