What kind of a screw did your chicken eat? You are very lucky! I lost my avatar (Annie to a screw).Believe it or not, I'm actually surprised that you're having problems with the screw. One of my hens ate a screw and is still happy and healthy!
Wow would a screw stay in the crop for that long? Not sure if you saw this thread but here it is just in caseIt's been two weeks since she ate the screw. I'm going to run the metal detector over her again today to see if it's still there. If it seems like it's in her crop i'm going to bring her in to work tomorrow and do radiographs. If they confirm it's in her crop, i'll anesthetize her and pull it out. If i think it's moved out of her crop i'm going to leave it.
she's actually not having any problems at all. she's great! That's why i was only going to do something if it was stuck in her crop. It's out of her crop and most likely sitting pretty in her gizzard. I've heard so many mixed opinions and scenarios either on the forum or from people i work with at the vet hospital on possible outcomes.Believe it or not, I'm actually surprised that you're having problems with the screw.
