I wish I could have them both, but I now have a coop with a run, so they would have to wait outside to get in. LOL! I have gotten such great advice already on this site! I have more reading to do about how to handle the base/floor of the run, but I'm making progress.
I have way too many boys in my flock and am still struggling on if I want to keep one. There are at least 2 in the group that are amazing. One in particular is just stellar. He is so calm and elegant (that is the word that comes to mind, lol!) He waits until everyone is in at night and then surveys everything then goes in the coop. There is a smaller cockerel that calls everyone to the coop before sunset. I call him the town crier. They all start filing in, with the exception of the big guy. He sits and waits while the crier gets everyone in. I love watching this!!!! I did get a pic of the town crier calling everyone in. Makes me laugh every time I look at it!
