I think you did the right thing. I would have done it too. Sometimes they die but sometimes they live... Keep us posted on the chicks progress.

The little guy died this morning.

There was nothing I could see externally that was wrong with him, but there had to be some reason why he tried for 48 hours to hatch and wasn't able to do it. I was SO hoping he'd make it, but it wasn't meant to be. I buried him on the edge of the woods near the barn. Thanks for the support.

So sorry to hear. They're such fragile little things ... you worry about them so long in the incubator, then, when they're out or on their way out, there's a whole new series of things to worry about. I'm glad you tried. You gave him a fighting chance.
