Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone! What a collection of folks from near and far and some VERY near! There were so many days over 100 degrees that the eggs went bad (runny/watery) if you didn't get them as soon as the hen cackled. For that matter, we could have simply replaced the nest box with a frying pan, and had lunch right there. HAHA!

Chicky-dees from TX with too many critters to list but I will just this once:
2 Ameracunas, 1 Australorp, 1 Wyandotte, 1 Barred Rock
1 Mallard, 2 Brown Chinese
7 Boer goats
4 Horses
2 dogs
1 house bunny
1 cockatoo
and 22 acres of wildlife including some fun critters to watch like black squirrels, a red wolf/coyte cross, several beavers, a few rare (cool) snakes, really large jack rabbits, the occasional red fox and seasonal lynx that passes through.
