I have three chickens and three ducks for the eggs and just noticed there was a rat in behind the pen and chased him out.
He keeps coming back and I have seemed to try everything.
Anyone out there know what to do?
I don't want to get any more.
I know he is looking for the eggs but don't know if he will hurt the chickens or ducks.
I am very new at this.
What is the best way?
Thanks

That's a tough one because you don't want to put poison out in case the chickens find him/it. Can you set a trap in an area that the chickens can't get to?

They have a trap that's called a T rex. Should be sold at your local hardware store. Remember. "One rat, two rat, OMG there's more!"

The rats will somtimes eat eggs. They will find and eat your grain almost nomater what. And somtimes they eat chicks under 2 weeks old, depending on what kind of rat. I use these traps called "tomcat snap ratraps" there big and black. You can buy them on the tomcat's websight or at most feed stores or hardware stores.

I'm SO going to pass out. I had this experience once - on accident. From that point on I have a fear of rats in buckets. Seriously! LOL Is that weird or what? Right now I feel like I'm about to <boing> up to the ceiling with heebie-geebies.

But I hadn't thought about doing it on purpose. Hmmmm

Any idea can go at least two ways. Give it a shot!
