I think getting a rooster is a good idea. They can be a hassle sometimes but they are usually worth it. Do you have someone to get a rooster from?

I didn't necessarily get rid of them. Divorce. I moved and I am building a new coop and run that should be ready by spring and I didn't want to really take any from my flock There's a lot of them that of been there for a while. There is one though we may bring over She's kind of a loner and she really likes my daughter but the goats and the cats all moved with me so I guess I can't have it allCurious as to why you have to get rid of your 22 chickens?

It stinks too because just about a year and a half ago we built an awesome new coop in expanded run. They're happy there though
It could be worse. At least were somewhat reasonable people so nothings vicious. And I know he will take good care of them.Ahh...hang in there.
