Happy Campbell family.

Well, it has been over 5 months of egg laying since they began on December 1, 2012...and can't complain about how many they've laid either.

What started out as concern about delayed laying has been great...and it's funny because I commented to my wife that if the girls don't start laying by December we were going to have duck for Christmas. My son wasn't too happy about that idea.

But, the two girls started on the first and have laid almost 1 to 2 eggs, every day, for last 5 months. We calculated around 240 eggs so far!

Of course, now that we have had a lot of rain and they have spent the last two weeks foraging in the mud it seems like they are down a bit in the last few days when it has gotten really cold at night again.

Oh well, hopefully it will pick back up...looking to hit a total of 600 over 12 months...that would recoup the cost of all of their feed since the day they were born. Not bad...wish my 10-year-old son was that productive. LOL.

Anyway, here is a pic of them getting ready to play in the mud...

p.s. thanks to everyone on this website. the information we have learned has help ease a lot of early concerns and taught us a lot. thx.
