Around my coop I have seen multiple birds of prey and I want to protect my hens from them as well as other predators. Any ideas of things I can give place around to deter them?

Make sure there are no rodents hanging around for the chicken feed. Rodents leave a trail of urine and some raptors can see it using UV vision receptors in their eyes. It is a florescent trail leading right to your coop.

At a minimum, you'll want to put netting over the top to keep the hawks out.

If you're locking your hens up at night and are around during the day they should be OK. However it looks like some pretty good openings in the fencing that weasels and the like could slip through, or a raccoon could reach in and grab a bird through the fence, so I'd be a bit nervous about leaving them unattended even during the day.

I've had all manner of supposedly nocturnal creatures visit during the day if they're overpopulated or just ornery: most recently I had an opussum population explosion and some of them started prowling around mid-day.

Thanks so much for the advice, I always make certain that my hens are never left unattended in the larger avian fencing. I will try to put some netting on top too.
