Hawk attack result neck wound.

Where exactly is this hole situated? Might even be the crop as the 'mucous' coming out would indicate.

.It is really hard to tell. cause of the blue Kote and the feather: I’m hoping in a little bit to be able to clean it out. If it does end up being thecrop. Then What?

The area would need to be manually sutured, or glued to prevent fluids/food from exiting the crop. That could be done at home, but would likely be better done at a vet office.

Day 5 so far she is walking around her pen. Also my dad caught her drinking out of her bowl. Her eyes are still close I fed her some apple sauce. She only had two spoonfull. Been looking at her neck. It looks a little bit drier.I still notice a little bit of mucus substance. I also have been spraying vetricyn. Tomorrow her antibiotics arrive in the mail. Unfortunately I don’t really have any vets near me that will do poultry.

Day 6 came home from work. Went to check on her. She started clucking. And only had a spoonful of apple sauce. Starting baytril 10% tonight. She still looks rough arounded the edges. Especially in the eyes.

She needs protein to recover, try feeding her soft scrambled eggs, and only a little bit every 2-3 hours, so not to expand the crop.

I will try again. The only thing with the apple sauce she will eat

I will try again. The only thing is I tried feeding it to her. She wouldn’t even touch it. I tried holding it up to her beak. Like I do with the apple sauce, but no go.

One way to force feed her is to sit her on your lap, head facing forward.
Then with your left hand reach underneath her beak and grab the wattles, softly pull downwards and she will open the beak, then with your right hand shove a piece (size of a marble) of scrambled egg into the beak and let go of the wattles so she can swallow.
Repeat 4-5 times with some minutes in between to allow for the egg to pass down into the crop.
