Hawk likely delivered multiple bites to head and may have had talons involved there as well. Damaged areas will have swelling. It is kind of like being stabbed in head with an ice pick. Give her time with just water. She can go a few days without food. She will loose weight and go out of lay if damaged like a I think. If no infection, then she will rebound rather quickly.She's still the sameI had to feed her by a spoon and drank she alot of the Gatorade..and she can stand up and walk but she keeps her eyes closed idk why
I had an American Dominique cockerel take similar bites from a Great-horned Owl a few weeks ago. It took a several days before he came back on feed, and an additional month before vision largely restored. Swelling was barely evident externally, but does not take much internally to cause real confusion.
